We're looking for great businesses to own and grow.

We are a two-person firm acquiring an established service business in Connecticut, Colorado, or Southern California. We're not here to flip it. We want to own it, take good care of it, and carry on what you built. We won't be outside investors managing from a distance. We'll be involved owners who keep your team and invest in them, get to know your customers, and help steer the business as it grows.

The basics

We buy established businesses.

Size

$300K to $2M a year in EBITDA or SDE.

Where

Connecticut, the Colorado Front Range, or Southern California.

Situation

An owner who's ready to retire or step back.

Our involvement

High. Exactly what that looks like depends on the business and the people in it.

What makes a good fit

What we look for in a business

We're open on industry. These are the traits we care about most, and a business doesn't need all of them to be a fit.

Recurring or repeat revenue

Contracts, scheduled service, or customers who come back.

Consistent margins and cash flow

A steady track record over several years.

Barriers to entry

Licenses, contracts, or a reputation that's hard to copy.

A diversified customer base

No single customer the business depends on.

A team that runs the day-to-day

So the business doesn't rest on the owner alone.

Room to grow

Through new customers, new services, new areas, or add-ons.

Our approach

How we think about ownership

Most owners we talk to spent twenty or thirty years building something that has their name on it, or might as well. Selling it isn't a transaction. It's handing over a piece of your life. We take that seriously, and we've written down exactly how.

  • We buy to own, not to flip. We aren't working against the short timelines and mandates that often come with outside capital. That lets us buy for the long run and make the decisions that are right for the business.

  • What's working stays. Your employees stay, your customer relationships carry on, and we won't change everything on day one.

  • Transparency and integrity. We'll be open with you the whole way through, including when we make an offer: what we think, what we can pay, and where we're unsure. If we're not the right buyer, we'll tell you early.

Who we are

Two partners, one plan

We're two professionals with backgrounds in lower-middle-market investment banking, private equity, and corporate finance. Between us we've spent our careers so far valuing, financing, and helping guide and grow businesses a lot like the ones we hope to buy. One of us is from Connecticut. We met in Chicago, and today we live in Denver and San Diego. Those are the places we know best, which is why we're searching in all three. We'd rather tell you the rest over a call or a visit than on a webpage.
